What is a Natural Cooling Air-Cooled Screw Chiller?

A Natural Cooling Air-Cooled Screw Chiller is an advanced refrigeration system that integrates both mechanical compression and natural cooling (also known as “free cooling”) to achieve efficient temperature control and energy savings. Unlike traditional air-cooled chillers that rely solely on compressors for cooling, this system intelligently utilizes ambient low temperatures—especially during cooler seasons—to partially or completely replace compressor operation, significantly reducing power consumption.The unit features high-efficiency screw compressors, air-cooled condensers, and a built-in free cooling module equipped with finned coil heat exchangers and intelligent three-way control valves. When the outdoor temperature drops below a certain threshold, the system automatically switches to natural cooling mode.
